Location
Location description¹:
The northernmost of the district's municipalities borders the Elm-Lappwald and Drömling nature parks. Formerly known for its quarries, these now form the Velpker Schweiz landscape conservation and recreation area. Cyclists and hikers will find open former sandstone quarries and recultivated gravel ponds here. There are many active small and medium-sized companies in our Velpke joint municipality. Velpke also has excellent transport connections. You can reach the city of Wolfsburg in 15 minutes and thus have a direct connection to Hanover, Hamburg and Berlin via the ICE train “
